Updates on PSDR Initiative
We had a very productive week of meetings on the Hill. In all this week we spoke with senior staff from seven Senate offices. During these meetings, we found three (3) senators on the Readiness Subcommittee that showed interest in submitting our suggested legislative text for inclusion in the 2021 NDAA. One of these offices specifically asked for Report Language to accompany the text.
For those of you who are new to this process (which I was as well until about four days ago!), Report Language is added to the end of the NDAA to either provide direction for Act implementation or priorities for next year's docket. In this case, the Report Language solicited would provide insight into the Committee's implementation of the PSDR and direct DCMA to take various actions to implement a pilot program.
Attached is the suggested Report Language we provided to requesting offices as well as other offices that have requested updates throughout this process. Please let me know if you have any questions about this or any of the steps in our work to update the CPSR process to include more participation by small businesses and other nontraditional contractors on major IT acquisition vehicles like OASIS, ALLIANT, and the upcoming NASA ASTRO GWAC.
We'll be having an Advisory Council meeting in the next two weeks via conference call, during which I'll provide a lot more detail about the initiative to date. Please let me know if you'd like to be considered for membership in the Advisory Council - in particular I'd like to add more representatives from small businesses on the Council sooner than later. We might soon be working with one or more Senators' offices on CMMC roll-out and small business input in particular is being vigorously requested.
Have a great week!
